Teenage girl has been rape to death by armed robbers – delta state

A father has been left totally devastated after returning home to see her daughter dead.

Some armed robbers on Sunday, raped a female victim to death while her father was at the hospital with pregnant wife in Delta State, according to a report by Nigerian Tribune has reported.

The victim was identified as Miss Woduowei.

The sad incident occurred in Bomadi, headquarters of Bomadi LGA of the state during an armed robbery attack along the Bomadi Gas Plant Station in Bomadi in the early hours of Sunday.

A member of the vigilante group, who declined identification, in the area confirmed the incident to journalists in Delta.

He said the father of the victim, one Elder Wuduowei, was away from home when the hoodlums invade the area and raped the lady whom they found alone in the house.

Before the incident, the victim was said to have alerted her father who couldn’t act fast to inform security agents.

Father of the victim, Elder Wuduowei, was quoted as saying that he couldn’t reach the head of the vigilante group when he got wind of the attack on his home.

“Armed robbers attacked my house when I was not around and my daughter tried to reach me to alert me.

“I was in the hospital because my wife was in labour before I could reach the head of vigilantes who accompanied me down, it was already late.

“We saw her body cold after we saw signs of her being violated by the hoodlums,” he lamented.

Ghana confirmed 2nd corona virus death.

Ghana has recorded its second death from coronavirus, according to a statement.

”Out of the suspected, twenty-seven (27) cases including two (2) deaths have been confirmed,” the country’s Health Ministry said in a statement late Monday.

All 25 patients are receiving treatment in isolation, it added.

The ministry said among the confirmed cases, 20 are Ghanaian nationals, the majority of whom returned home from affected countries. Seven are foreign nationals from Norway, Lebanon, China, France, and the U.K.

Last week, the West African nation announced the closure of its borders to curb the spread of the deadly virus.

Most African governments have introduced several measures to curtail the virus’ spread, including closing schools, imposing travel restrictions and prohibiting large gatherings.

The virus first emerged in Wuhan, China last December and has spread to at least 168 countries and territories. The World Health Organization has declared the outbreak a pandemic.

There are 381,598 confirmed cases worldwide and the death toll now tops 16,500, while over 101,000 people have recovered, according to U.S.-based Johns Hopkins University.

A naive Ghanaian lady on Twitter has just insulted the President of Ghana after he declared March 25, 2020, a national day of fasting and prayers to fight the corona

This did not go down well with this naive Ghanaian lady based in the UK who has called the President negligent and stupid in a tweet. According to the lady who goes by the name Barbara Ntumy, Akufo Addo should stop being stupid and put in the right measures to fight the coronavirus.

According to her, fasting and prayers is not the response to fight the coronavirus pandemic which Ghana is still recording cases and has already claimed one life lost in Ghana as the president confirmed in her delivering.

Her post on Twitter has attracted a lot of backlashes as many believe she could have stated her opinions without insulting the President of Ghana who is old enough to be her grandfather.

President Akufo Addo in his speech charged all Christians and Muslims to join forces to pray and fast on Wednesday so we can defeat the deadly effect of the coronavirus.

Given that the markets are places where rats and other animals are mostly hidden, Ghana’s government also decided to carry out fumigation activities in the midst of the Coronavirus outbreak.

But traders in Ashaiman, however, did not welcome the planned exercise by the government hence presented resistance to the who went to markets this morning to do their duties.

According to reports by UTV this morning, the traders were there and ready to continue their business duties as normal.

United state of America has banned it states from activities two weeks to fight against the pandemic disease, that is overspread in the world.

Colombia wahayo , is one the lagest state in American has released press statement through their governor today 23rd march 2020 , to ban all companies and citizens activities for two weeks.

Fumigation exercise held in Accra markets

A major disinfection exercise is taking place throughout the country on Monday, March 23, 2020.

The exercise, the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has explained, is to help enhance the conditions of hygiene in markets in the wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The exercise is being held simultaneously in at least 1,000 market centres across the country.

The government has directed traders not to open businesses today to allow for uninterrupted exercise. They will, however, return to normal business on Tuesday, March 24.

There about 137 market centres in the Greater Accra Region.

According to the reports, several hundreds of military personnel from Burma Camp in Accra, have been deployed to start the nationwide disinfection exercise in an effort to halt the spread of the new coronavirus.

Kwame Dzokoto slams Nana Addo lying on corona virus to Ghanaians

The aspiring NDC parliamentary candidate for the Tarkwa Nsuaem Constituency in the Western Region, Seth Kwame Dzokoto, popularly known as Kwame Dzokoto, has slammed President Akufo-Addo for lying to Ghanaians when he addressed the nation on Saturday, March 21, 2020.

The Saturday night address was Mr. Akufo-Addo’s Update No.3 since the outbreak hit the shores of Ghana.

The President’s address sort to give an update to Ghanaians on drastic measures taken by the government against the spread of the coronavirus.

However, shortly after the President’s address, it emerged that Ghana has recorded two new cases, shooting the total number of confirmed cases from 19 to 21.

Reacting to the President’s address, Kwame Dzokoto criticised that reality will force him [Akufo-Addo] to speak the truth to his people.

According to him, the number of confirmed cases as at the time the President was addressing the nation was 21 but he deducted and mentioned 19 just to portray that the measures he has put in place in the face of the outbreak are having an effect on the nation.

“Reality will force you to speak the truth to your people. At least it was only one lie tonite …the number is 21 today but he deducted his VAT and mentioned 19 …just to portray that his measures are having an effect”, Dzokoto wrote on his Facebook page sighted by Ghanaguardian.com.

He professed that the President only imported the virus into the country but not the one who invented it. He chided him [Nana Addo] to tell Ghanaians every truth about the dreadful disease.

“Mr. President you only imported it but not the inventor …pls tell us the truth”, said Dzokoto.

Meanwhile, the President has announced that all the country’s borders, land, air and sea, will be closed at midnight on Sunday, March 22, 2020, to minimize the number on imported COVID-19 cases.
